The FIVE C's of Effective Communication

Clarity


Completeness
  1. All communication must be complete and effective in all respects. There should not be any lapse in communication. Give extra information .
  2. Avoid making presumptions.
  3. Initiate the commnication process keeping in mind that the person at the receiving end does not know anything about what you have in mind or what you are saying.
Concise
  1. Make the commmunication using simple carefully selected words
  2. Brevity makes your communication stand out.
  3. Avoid the repetition of sentences or ideas.
Considerate
  1. Listen carefully and try to understand the information needs of the recipient
  2. Think from the recipients point of view as well .
  3. Avoid the repetition of sentences or ideas..
Concrete
  1. Plan the process of communication well.. Organise your points.
  2. Use words that denote and not connote.
  3. Do not be vague.
Clarity
  1. The communication should be clear to the recipient
  2. The recipient should be able to make a pretty fair idea of what the person communication has in mind .
  3. Avoid the repetition of familiar sentences or ideas.
